 i thought about my first tattoo for over a year. i wanted it to represent me and my family. the music note which holds a peace sign if you look real close both symbolizes me and my life. i added the two stars just to give it some omph. 

then i was dissapointed at how much it faded. i also wanted something bolder. so i went....


in between getting my foot redone, i had traveled back home to connecticut, and finally dealt with my grandmothers death. when i came home, i decided i would get something on me, in memory of her.


im looking to get more, but recently moved from san diego to arizona and still looking into a new artist.

I logged into my LJ today and saw this community...so I figured why not?

I got my first tattoo a year ago last July 12th. It was the best thing I ever did. I love it! It took nearly 3 years to find the design and another year of planning. But below is my lower back tattoo...it took 2.5hrs to complete and was done by Ron Antonick of GenXTattoos in Willoughby, Ohio.

I got it a month after he was born and I absolutely love it.

I have 6 tats and i'm probably gonna get more but right now i'm pretty satisfied. Got my first when i turned 18...

I got my first tattoo after approximately 4 years of planning, designing, changing my mind and other forms of procrastinating. It took three hours, hurt a fair bit and scabbed a fair bit (my skin became quite enflamed whilst it was being done).
It's two swallows. I guess the reason behind it is that it symbolises freedom. It'll eventually become a complete back piece. And I'm planning on a leopard print one on my lower calf as soon as funds allow. (Designed to look as though the leopard print is showing through the skin on my leg, the idea is that I'm wild, untame etc.)
Am aware I've gone on a fair bit thus far, but have also decided to upload my fiances tattoos (with his permission) also. The uploaded one is a scene (is that what they're called?) from the graphic novel Akira. He also has lyrics from Hell Is For Heroes on his forearm and some scarification on his upper arm (of a dice).

All our tattoos were done at Modern Body Art in Birmingham, UK. His scarification was by Blair (from Canada? I believe. I'll double check that and edit this)

I just got this a couple months ago.
It was a gift from my Mom on my 16th birthday.

So I am in the midst of getting my entire right leg covered, here is what i have finished so far, not shown is an uncolored Oiwa on the inside of my thigh and a One-eyed serpent Oni on the outside of my knee. The Hanya is on my left leg, All work is done by Bugsy at Sanctity Tattoo in Tucson, AZ

This is the first one I got. It was done in Chicago, I can't remember the artist's name but if my husband does I'll edit it in later. It's on my left shoulder.

This is my second. My husband and I got matching ones for our first wedding anniversary. Nick, from Body Adorned in Austin, TX, is the artist. The heart with a crown is a Scottish symbol of love, and the ribbon is tied in a love knot. (We had a handfasting at our ceremony.) My husband's is on his left shoulder.
